FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR THIS PROGRAM?

We are looking for participants who can commit to leadership training every Saturday between March and June, full-day programming over March break, and six weeks of paid summer employment in July and August.

WHERE DOES YOUTH FUTURES TAKE PLACE?

The Youth Futures program takes place at different locations throughout the City. Most of the program is held downtown to help remove transportation barriers. Successful applicants will be notified of program location(s) when accepted into the program.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO BE PART OF YOUTH FUTURES?

All interested students must fill out an application form to be considered. Visit our Program Requirements page to see if you qualify.

IF I AM SELECTED TO THE YOUTH FUTURES PROGRAM DOES THIS MEAN I AM GUARANTEED ACCEPTANCE AT A POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTION?

The Youth Futures Program does not guarantee acceptance to any post-secondary institution. The Youth Futures program provides opportunities to learn about their post-secondary options by hosting orientations with the five post-secondary institutions in Ottawa.

DOES YOUTH FUTURES GUARANTEE EMPLOYMENT AFTER THE PROGRAM?

The Youth Futures Program cannot guarantee employment after a job placement.
