Participant FAQ

Effective September 22, 2021, proof of vaccination (showing two doses plus a minimum of 14 days) and identification will be required to participate in the Youth Futures program.

We are looking for participants who can commit to leadership training every Saturday between March and June, full-day programming over March break, and six weeks of paid summer employment in July and August.

The Youth Futures program takes place at different locations throughout the City. Most of the program is held downtown to help remove transportation barriers. Successful applicants will be notified of program location(s) when accepted into the program.

In 2021, Youth Futures was delivered both in-person and virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will follow Ottawa Public Health guidelines for 2022.

All interested students must fill out an application form to be considered. Visit our Program Requirements page to see if you qualify.

The Youth Futures Program does not guarantee acceptance to any post-secondary institution. The Youth Futures program provides opportunities to learn about their post-secondary options by hosting orientations with the five post-secondary institutions in Ottawa.

The Youth Futures Program cannot guarantee employment after a job placement.
